Service F.A.Q.

Q: What size wire should I use in my EX series baler?
A: For most applications a 13 ga, 13 ft wire can be used. materials with more memory such as PET, HDPE, & Foam you may need a larger gauge.

Q: What gauge wire should I get for replacement on my 2RAM baler?
A: The gauge of wire is designated by the last digit on your wire tier model #. Example a 342 will use 12 ga wire whereas a 343 would use 13 ga wire.

Q: What type of wire should I use on my 2RAM baler?
A: Your Excel balers requires an Ultra High Tension strength type wire, The common black annealed wire is not recommended.

Q: Does my baler need a tank heater?
A: If the ambient temerature will drop to 40 deg or less for an extended period of time one should be ordered with the baler.

Q: How often should I change my filters?
A: Hydraulic and Air Breather filters should be changed every 3 months or 500 hours.

Q: What type of oil should i use on my baler?
A: Excel Balers with Reserviors mounted on the machine should use an Multi viscosity 32 weight hydraulic oil.
Excel Balers with separate reserviors should use a multiviscosity 46 weight oil.

Q: Why do i need a conveyor for my baler?
A: A conveyor is not just a means of getting the material into the balers' hopper. While balers can be fed directly by hand or with a piece of equipment a conveyor acts as a metering device providing a consistant feed and uniform bale density while reducing shear jams.

Q: Where can I obtain hyraulic and air breather filters for my baler?
A: While some Aftermarket filters may physically fit on your baler, Excel OEM filters use a specific filtration media which keeps oil particulate at or below the requirements demanded by piston pumps, poppet valves and other advanced hydraulic components that your hydraulics system may use.
